G.O.A.L.S. Get Up, Get Down, Get Out Fundraiser

The mission of the GOALS organization is to inspire exploration in youth through multi-day wilderness river trips.   The Get Up, Get Down, Get Out is a fun and exciting way to raise money for an outstanding organization. Participants will make a commitment to ski or ride no less than 10,000 vertical feet at Loveland Ski Area on March 16th, 2013. Between now and the event, they’ll gather financial pledges from friends and family members who recognize the value of outdoor programs for youth. On the day of the vertical challenge, they’ll be able to monitor their real-time results on live leader boards at the base area, as total vertical feet will be tracked in real-time through GPS-based devices. At the end of what will certainly be a fun and exciting day, participants who get themselves UP and DOWN the mountain will have helped to raise the funds needed to get kids OUTside in a GOALS river program!

Free Family Race Day

Join us as the Loveland Race Club hosts a free Family Race Day in support of Subaru's Master the Mountain.  The race will take place on Firecut off Chair 2 from 10am - 2pm and will be open to skiers and snowboards of all ages and abilities.  Come out and race each other for bragging rights.  The race is free and open to everyone.  Just sign up the morning of on the Basin Patio or at the top of the course

Subaru's Master the Mountain

Subaru has created an event weekend dedicated to promoting a safe and enjoyable snowrider environment. Subaru’s Master of The Mountain events include free mini-lessons, Free Family Races, Nordica demos and an insider’s look at the operations of the National Ski Patrol with an avalanche awareness and beacon training session. Free goodies and prizes surround the event as a Subaru command post is set up at the base of the mountain complete with free hot chocolate and coffee. The first 100 Subaru drivers to enter the parking lot receive VIP treatment with front row parking right next to Lift 1. This promises to be a weekend you won’t want to miss. Participation is free to all skiers and snowboarders with a valid lift ticket

New Belgium Brewing Scavenger Hunt

 

New Belgium Brewing and Loveland Ski Area team up to bring back the popular on-hill Scavenger Hunt.  Start by building your team and picking out some creative costumes and join us for what has easily become one of Loveland's most popular events!  Register the morning of for only $10 with all proceeds benefiting local non-profit organization Alliance for a Sustainable Colorado and spend the day chasing chickens, searching for bigfoot and answering some ridiculous riddles all while enjoying a great day skiing and riding.  Prizes will be awarded for the most points earned and everyone over 21 get to enjoy delicious New Belgium Beer at the Apres party complete with Live Music!

With influences in jazz, rock, jam, funk etc. Founded by Mike Rouse in 2005 the band has since played hundreds of shows across the country. The music takes you on a journey with a plethra of sounds. With a unique but familiar groove. The group is known for its powerful funky jams, coupled with lyrics that provoke thought.

Ski With a Ranger Day

 

The US Forest Service and Loveland Ski Area team up to host Loveland's first ever Ski with a Ranger Day!  Join a Forest Service Snow Ranger for a fun, free, and easy run centered around the relationships between Loveland and the land we all enjoy so much.  Topics include glacial geology, winter ecology, local history, and partnerships and are suited for all ages (recommended for ages 8+).  Simply meet at Ptarmigan Roost Cabin at the top of Chair 2 at either 10:30am or 1:30pm for a run with the Snow Ranger (plan to get there 15 minutes early.

The Ski With a Ranger Program will be taking place once a month until the end of the season. Other Ski With a Ranger Dates include April 27th.  Make plans to join us and learn more about the great world in which we live!

Dual Snowboards Demo Day


The Colorado distributor City2Snow.com for Dual Snowboards will be bringing the Dual Boards to Loveland. Dual Snowboards are a unique new product for sliding on the snow. Based on the principles of snowboarding, Dual Snowboards are two small snowboards for each foot. They are not connected at all and use standard snowboard bindings. Now is your chance to try them for yourself!


The City2Snow.com demo tent will be set up at the Basin of the Basin with demo hours of 9am till 2:30 pm.
