Thank you for your interest in Loveland Ski Area's 18th Annual Marry Me & Ski For Free Mountaintop Matrimony.  The Mountaintop Matrimony is one of Loveland's most popular events of the year and we look forward to your participation.

The Mountaintop Wedding is for couples getting married or renewing their vows and takes place at 12pm sharp outside the Ptarmagin Roost Cabin, elevation 12,000 feet. The Ptarmigan Roost cabin is located at the top of Chair #2 at Loveland Basin. Couples are required to sign-in the morning of the event and are asked to be at the Ptarmagin Roost Cabin by 11:30am the morning of the event. The chairlift ride is approximately 12 minutes.

PARTICIPANTS AND GUESTS MUST BE ABLE TO RIDE THE LIFT UP TO THE TOP AND THEN SKI OR SNOWBOARD DOWN THE HILL IN ORDER TO ATTEND THE CEREMONY. THERE WILL BE NO TRANSPORTATION UP OR DOWN THE MOUNTAIN FOR NON-SKIERS/SNOWBOARDERS. 

The ceremony is a “mass wedding” done for all couples at the same time and lasts approximately 30 minutes. At the conclusion of the ceremony, all participants and guests will ski or snowboard down the mountain for a casual after party with cake, music and prizes. The runs leading back to the base area from this point are beginner and intermediate. The after party will start at 1:30pm at the base of Loveland Basin. Due to the high volume of traffic anticipated on this Valentine's Day, lunch will not be included in this year's event. 

Participating couples that complete the pre-registration form (below) will be eligible for the $56 “2 for 1” lift tickets the day of the event.  Pre-registered couples will also be eligible to purchase 2-for-1 lunches for $11 including two $11 vouchers good at any Loveland Cafeteria outlet (alcohol excluded). Wedding cake, raffle tickets and beer coupons will be provided complimentary for pre-registered couples.  Pre-registration ends on February 12, 2009. 

Couples getting married are required to obtain a valid Colorado Marriage License and need to bring it with them to the ceremony to be signed. Click Here for Clear Creek County marriage license information. 

Couples are encouraged to dress in appropriate “ski-wedding” attire as there will be a prize for the best dressed couple. Please keep in mind that The Ptarmagin Roost Cabin is located at 12,000 feet and that dressing warmly is important even on a sunny day. The wedding will not be rescheduled because of snow or cold weather, so be prepared!

Pre-registered couples must sign-in at the Rathskeller Bar between 8am and 10:30am the morning of the 14th.  You must have pre-registered in order to receive 2-for-1 lift tickets and 2-for-1 lunches, which you can pick up at the sign-in.  You may pay with cash, credit cards or a check.  You will be required to show your valid drivers license or state ID card. Couples getting married will also have to bring a CO marriage license when they register. Couples may NOT purchase 2-for-1 lift tickets at the ticket office.

Guest will be eligible to purchase lunch packages for only $15, which include an $11 meal voucher, 2 beer coupons and wedding cake at the after party.  Lunch packages for guests should be purchased at the morning sign-in in the Rathskeller as they will NOT be sold at the ticket office.  Guests may purchase lift tickets to attend the ceremony at the ticket office.

The wedding will start promptly at noon at the top of Chair 2. We will not take roll call or wait for any couples not in attendance. We recommend that you arrive to the top of Chair 2 at 11:30am. It takes approximately 12 minutes to ride Chair 2 from the base to the Ptarmagin Roost Cabin. Please don't be late. It will likely be COLD, so dress accordingly. Just because it is sunny, doesn't mean it is warm. There are no restroom facilities at the Ptarmagin Roost Cabin.

Harry Heilman, Registered Minister with the Universal Life Church will conduct the ceremony for all couples at one time. The ceremony takes approximately 30 minutes.

Upon completion of the ceremony, all couples and guests will ski or ride down the hill. Hooray! The after party does not start until 1:30, so couples and guests will have time to take a couple runs or grab a bit to eat or drink in the cafeteria/bar until the start of the after party. The after party will be held on the Basin Patio at the base area.  Wedding cake and sparkling cider will be served at 1:30pm with raffles and best dressed contest starting at 2:00pm.

Our sponsors have provided a honeymoon prize pack including lodging, dinner and two days of skiing, which will be awarded to the best-dressed couple. There will also be a raffle with great prizes provided by Coors, Pepsi, KSMT and Loveland Ski Area. Each couple will receive a special gift bag as well.  Our long-time partners Coors and Pepsi will provide beverages, and a DJ from KSMT will be spinning tunes during the after party.
